bpmtaptempo.com is built and maintained by Zishan Khan.
The site does one thing well — turns a tapped key into a BPM you can trust — and adds the two things you always need right after: a metronome to hear the tempo and a calculator to convert it into milliseconds, Hz and bars.
Principles
- Free, ad-free, no account. Nothing stands between you and the pad.
- Everything in the browser. Taps, history and settings stay on your device; no audio is ever uploaded.
- Accurate and transparent. The method — outlier-tolerant averaging, last-8 rolling tempo, steadiness check — is explained on the home page.
- Fast. Static HTML, under 15 KB of JavaScript, works offline once loaded.
